Leinster will host Munster in the Heineken Cup semi-final if both sides come through tough quarter-finals in early April, when they will face champions Toulon and Toulouse, respectively.

Rob Penney’s Munster side secured home advantage for their last-eight match, with a bonus-point win over Edinburgh this afternoon and, after Clermont coasted past Racing Metro, four-time champions Toulouse were confirmed as their opponents.

Until Clermont ran in two second-half tries, it had looked like Leinster and Munster would meet a round earlier, but the result in France confirmed an away tie in Toulon for Matt O’Connor’s side.

Ulster, who had known since Saturday night that they would be up against Saracens in the last eight, will host either Clermont or Leicester in the last four if they can beat the English side at Ravenhill.
