Sir, – The contents of the letters of Messrs Hobson and Sharpe (June 15th) are a pertinent illustration of the wisdom of the Church of Scotland's invitation to the Presbyterian Church in Ireland to "agree to disagree together". We are fortunate to have a church polity that allows room (obviously, sometimes more in theory than in practice) for conscientious dissent. Or is that something the dogmatists in their certitude also want to exclude? – Yours, etc,
Prof RUTH WHELAN,
