A chara,– I enjoyed the account of the 800-year-old palace under Kevin Street Garda station in Dublin ("Faded station masks medieval episcopal palace", July 18th).
While I am sure Archbishop Comyn had offenders punished in stocks on the site in the 12th century, it is unlikely that the miscreants had tomatoes thrown at them, as suggested in the report, as these took a while longer to reach us from the Americas. – Is mise,
