Sir – Ryanair, for better or worse, gets a lot of flak in the consumer affairs section of your newspaper. However, I recently flew Ryanair with my wife and three young children for a family holiday to Spain, and it was a very pleasant experience.
Five free bags brought on board with neither dimension nor weight checks, a buggy and a collapsible wagon-trolley in the hold, all our own food and drink consumed on board, no hassle.
As our homeward-bound flight took off, I informed a cabin crew member that my son was feeling slightly ill; promptly, napkins, hygiene bags and a complimentary bottle of water were proffered.
I’m tempted to tell my fellow Mullingar man Michael O’Leary that he’s losing his touch. – Yours, etc,
