Gardaí in Dublin are concerned for the safety of a young English woman who has not been seen since the beginning of the week. Karen Mason (26), a non-medical employee of the Mater hospital, was last seen moving her car from the front of her house at Fassaugh Avenue, Cabra, Dublin, at about 6am on Monday.

Originally from Cornwall, England, she was reported missing when she failed to turn up for work. She is described as being about 5ft 10ins in height, with shoulder-length auburn hair. She owns a red Renault Clio, registration number J 994 KBP, which is also missing.

Gardaí in Cabra contacted friends and family both here and in Britain, but no one had heard from her. Her boyfriend has called and texted her several times but has received no reply.

Calls to her mobile phone indicate it is out of coverage or switched off. Ports have been checked for any indication of her movements, but to no avail. The Phoenix Park and surrounding areas have also been searched. Anyone with information is urged to contact gardaí at Cabra Garda station on 01 666 7400.
