Apparently I’m a koala - only moving at night when I need to and active mostly on the weekdays. At least that’s what Breeze, yet another fitness app, tells me I am, after a very lazy weekend. The app uses the motion data captured by the new iPhone’s M7 coprocessor to let you know how many steps you move each day, allowing you to pit yourself against your previous totals, and aim for a daily goal. That goal is set automatically by the app, personalised every day according to the average of the past seven days. When you first install the app, there is already data there, because the iPhone 5S automatically stores up to seven days worth of motion data for you, counting up your steps and total time spent moving. Give the app access to your location data and it will map your longest activity for you too. It’s a nicely designed app too - fresh and clean, with all the information presented in an easy to read format. A few more features would make it more useful as a health tracker, but for now, it’s a bit of extra motivation.
