Siteserv, the utility support services group owned by businessman Denis O'Brien, has acquired UK tower painting and maintenance company P.D.C. Utility Services Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
PDC will form part of Siteserv’s industrial services division (DSL), a provider of multi-disciplinary solutions across a range of industrial sectors.
The deal marks the first acquisition for the company, and according to Sean Corkery, chairman and CEO, Siteserv, "it is very much in line with the overall growth strategy for the company".
“Our growth strategy is motivated by the desire to provide our clients, across the group, with complete end-to-end solutions. The expansion of our service offerings through strategic acquisitions such as this will contribute to this key objective,”
Mr O'Brien bought the Siteserv business for € 45 million in 2012 and since then it has developed its business in the UK and the Caribbean region, while also working on important contracts with Irish Water (for which it installs water meters) and UPC. Siteserv employs 3,000 people.
