Maximum Media has been busy this week launching MADE, the “new branded content solutions department” that is fuelling the publisher’s expansion.

The company, founded by Niall McGarry, recently announced it was hiring for 42 new positions, which will see its workforce increase from 66 to more than 100 over the next year.

Some 20 of the positions will be hired in the first half of next year and will cover multimedia journalists, social media managers, video production staff and commercial and “creative strategists”, which sounds like fun. It is also currently seeking a new editor for Her.ie, its lifestyle website aimed – as the URL suggests – at women.

A sign of future commercial partnerships to come, perhaps, is the now-available Her.ie-branded compilation album, Her.ie Presents Just Great Songs, courtesy of Sony Music Entertainment Ireland.

The 40-track compilation features recent hits from Little Mix, Sia and George Ezra as well as fondly recalled 1990s tracks such as TLC's No Scrubs and Brandy & Monica's The Boy is Mine. Younger Her.ie readers might have to ask their mothers about the one-time radio ubiquity of What's Up by the 4 Non Blondes.
