Gardaí in west Dublin have seized a semi-automatic weapon and a high powered motorcycle in their ongoing investigations into serious criminal activity.
A planned search was carried out at an address in Blanchardstown on Monday in the investigation by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, assisted by the Special Crime Task Force.
“During the course of this search a semi-automatic sawn-off shotgun(subject to ballistic examination) was seized along with a stolen high powered motor cycle,” a Garda spokesman said.
A 37-year-old man was arrested and he is being held at Blanchardstown Garda station under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
