Murder charge follows death of woman on boating holiday

A man has been charged with the murder of a mother who died earlier this year on a boating holiday in Northern Ireland.

Lu Na McKinney (35), from Co Donegal, was holidaying on a hired cruiser in Co Fermanagh with her husband and their two young children in April when she died.

The PSNI said on Monday that detectives investigating the death have charged a 41-year-old man with murder.

He will appear before Omagh Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The boat the family was using was moored at Devenish Island, a popular visitor attraction near Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, when Ms McKinney died.

Emergency services found her body in the water but intensive attempts to resuscitate her failed. – Press Association
