Property development and investment company Ardale has invested €1 million and is creating 15 jobs with the launch of a new chain of plant and tool hire centres.
The move comes just a month after the group acquired KCR Builders Providers.
Ardale – which is active in property, construction and other businesses – has been in expansion mode and is currently looking for other builders merchants to acquire in the Leinster area as it looks to further expand.
The first Core Plant and Tool Hire Centre is to open in Clondalkin with plans to expand to five locations over the next 18 months.
Ardale is led by Emma Maye, a daughter of Castlethorn Construction founder, the late Liam Maye, a developer of Dundrum Town Centre, the State's biggest shopping mall.
“The launch of Core Plant and Tool Hire Centre reflects the growth in construction sector due to the demand for new builds, retrofitting homes for energy purposes and renovation projects as homeowners rethink their needs due to remote working,” said Ms Maye.
“Establishing the new business alongside our existing merchant builders offer means that we can cater for the needs of a diverse customer base from building contractors to DIY enthusiasts in Leinster, giving them the access to building materials and supplies, as well as tool and vehicle hire when and where they need them,” she added.
As well as the expanding builders merchants business, Ardale also has a property development arm, currently undertaking development in Wicklow town, and Arklow. Recently filed accounts for the group show it recorded a net profit of €4.9 million for 2020.
