John Joe Nevin, Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan fired Ireland into a 4-0 lead in the ten-bout Elite international against France in Cork on Friday night.

The Mullingar and Belfast trio, beat Dylan Beccu, Samuel Kistohurry and Elias Friha at the Rochestown Park Hotel.

Barnes was 6-2 up after the first and wobbled Beccu on the ropes with a big right on the bell for the end of the second and the ref counted the French light-fly out.

Conlan was also in the top form, producing a polished display en route to a landslide 25-10 decision over Samuel Kistohurry in the second bout of the session. Nevinbeat Elias Friha 14-6.

Belfast lightweight Sean McComb made it 4-0 with a 43-40 countback verdict over Sopiane Oumiha following a 13-13 tie in the fourth bout on the program.

Both countries meet again at the National Stadium in Dublin tomorrow afternoon
