Sir, – Ireland has very high annual precipitation; for example May this year was one of the wettest on record, yet Irish Water sees fit to issue a water conservation notice only days into an Azores high. One has to wonder about its competency as an organisation.
Irish Water has had over a decade to resolve some of the country’s water storage requirements.
It is surely unacceptable that after less than one week of a sunny spell Irish Water feels the necessity to issue such a water advisory; and that it is incapable of storing sufficient water for a population of less than five million people in one of the rainiest countries of the planet?
