Man pronounced dead in Kerry after ‘tragic’ fire incident

An area near a popular woodland walkway in Killarney, Co Kerry was sealed off on Thursday morning, and a man has been pronounced dead.

Shocked passersby called emergency services after after coming across a man with fire injuries.

The incident occurred shortly after 7.30 am alongside the N72 and Fossa Walkway near the Golden Nugget Pub and Killarney Golf Course.

A tent has been erected and the body remains at the scene while gardaí carry out technical examination.

Gardaí are trying to identify the man. At this early stage they do not suspect third party involvement and believe it was a tragic incident.
