Investigations are underway following the death of a man on a farm in Co Meath.
The man, named locally as father of three Brendan Lucey who was in his 60s, was discovered fatally injured at Clongall between Castlejordan, Co Meath and Edenderry, Co Offaly shortly before 1pm on Wednesday.
His remains were removed to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan where a post mortem was expected to take place.
A spokesman for the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) said it appeared Mr Lucey had been spreading manure when he "became trapped between a JCB and a tractor".
The HSA has sent inspectors to the site to investigate the incident. Gardaí in Longwood, Co Meath confirmed they were also investigating the matter.
The HSA said there had been 17 workplace related fatalities this year, seven of which have occurred on farms.
