Garda appeal after woman found badly injured on castle grounds

Drivers in area of Pollerton Castle in Carlow early on Sunday asked to make contact

Gardaí have issued a witness appeal after a woman was found seriously injured in Carlow town on the grounds at Pollerton Castle, on Pollerton Road.

The woman, in her 50s, was taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny, where her condition has been described as serious.

Gardaí are in particular appealing for anyone who travelled on Staplestown Road, St Patrick’s Avenue, or Pollerton Road, between the hours of 2am and 5am on Sunday, to contact them.

They are also appealing to any drivers who may have travelled these roads between these times and have footage from dash-cams to contact them at Carlow Garda Station on 059-9136620, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
