Dublin’s Dart services were suspended for 40 minutes in both directions on Sunday night due to a brawl, understood to involve about five people, which broke out on a northbound train.

Iarnród Éireann spokesman Barry Kenny said the train was stopped at Salthill and Monkstown Dart Station shortly after 9.30pm when a passenger alerted the driver to fighting in a carriage.

All passengers not involved in the incident were evacuated from the carriage and the gardaí attended the scene. Trains resumed at 10.10pm.
