Whyte's auctioneers in Dublin said its autumn auction of historical collectibles on September 14th would include an original, signed programme for the 1963 visit to Ireland of the "President of the United States of America John Fitzgerald Kennedy".
Auctioneer Ian Whyte said "the extremely desirable official Irish government booklet" was published by the Department of Foreign Affairs and printed by Hely Thom, Dublin, with seven pages detailing JFK's schedule and a loose page insert giving revised arrangements for the president's departure.
The booklet is signed in black ink on the cover by John F Kennedy.
It belonged to the senior official in the Department of Foreign Affairs who was responsible for organising the schedule for the visit and is being sold by a family member. The estimate is €800-€1,200.
