Tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, oranges, limes and lemons were on the lunch menu at Arnotts spring-summer preview today in a room cascaded with flowers.
The same colours and decor were mirrored on the catwalk for spring-summer 2018, a season that is fearlessly floral with Crayola brights and bold summer tonal clashes.
A zesty orange jacket (€249) with tomato red trousers (€250) and a yellow tee (€89.90) was typical of the mix. Also featured was a palm print trouser suit from Millie Mackintosh (€190 and €125) and a lime pleated dress by Luisa Cerano (€405) worn with red shoes.
Elsewhere blowsy floral dresses, printed jumpsuits and the occasional pencil skirt or monochrome ensemble softened the blast. Models that featured plus size and older women displayed the new vogue for inclusivity in fashion.
We selected some of our favourite looks from some 30 ensembles on the runway, ranging from €70 for a sheer embroidered skirt by FeeG up to €740 for a pale ice blue coat by Goat (worn with a matching dress for €580).
