Two bargain wines from O’Brien’s this week. Both are on offer for €10 a bottle and offer fantastic value for money at that price. But you’ll have to be fast; they’ll both revert to €12.99 after the weekend. Both are worth stocking up on for those cold, wet Wednesdays on the horizon.
There is not much information on the label, but both are made from French varietals and, according to the O’Briens website, come from Castilla – La Mancha, which is part of the central plain of Spain.

Añoranza Sauvignon Blanc 2024
€12.5%, €12.99 down to €10 (until September 28th)
An attractive lightly floral sauvignon with vibrant green apple and pear set off perfectly by a refreshing acidity. Drink by itself or with a variety of salads, fish or white meats. Great value for money.

Añoranza Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz 2024
13%, €12.99 down to €10 (until September 28th)
This has some real cabernet character; dark fruits, blackcurrants, a nice freshness and a lightly tannic finish. A very well-priced everyday wine to enjoy with or without food.
