Aldi held a press tasting recently to showcase its new arrivals for autumn and winter. Some of the wines had featured before, but there were also a few exciting new arrivals. I include one of each below.

Fresh and moreish with citrus peel and elegant textured strawberry and apple fruits. The perfect celebration wine, and great value for money.

Unearthed Castellore Malvasia Nera 2024, Puglia

13.5%, €10.99

I have featured an earlier vintage of this wine before. The price has increased by €2 since March 2024, but it still represents reasonable value for money. Medium-bodied with ripe dark fruits and an off-dry finish. Try it with spicy barbecued red and white meats.
