The SuperValu French wine sale has been running for a week or so now. It features some well-known names such as Chablis and Fleurie at very keen prices. I recommended the Fleurie two weeks ago. In addition to this, I have always been a fan of the excellent Château Lacombe Cadiot, a bargain at €14 (down from €17.99), and I would certainly recommend the Goichot Saint Bris 2022, a sauvignon from Burgundy, which is €10, down from €18.
Below are two more wines from the sale. Both offer good value at €12 and €8.
Marcel Hugg Réserve Alsace Riesling 2023
12.5% abv, €12, down from €14
Crisp and refreshing with plump green apple fruits and a lingering finish. By itself, with a variety of foods, including sushi, all kinds of pork, including ham, or choucroute.
Château Manon des Brumes 2019, Côtes de Bordeaux
14% abv, €8.25, down from €13
Gentle and smooth with blackcurrant and cassis fruits. Enjoy it with roast lamb or beef.
