Irish- based Waypoint Leasing has delivered two craft to Caverton Helicopters, which provides aviation and logistics support to oil and gas companies in Nigeria.

Waypoint, backed by members of the Soros family, is leasing an Agusta Westland AW139 and a Bell412EP to Caverton, which will use them to support offshore oil and gas operations.

Waypoint's chief executive, Ed Washecka, said the deal marks its first transaction in west Africa, which is a significant market for helicopter leasing, and one that is expected to continue growing over the long term.

“We are confident that this marks the beginning of a long and productive partnership with Caverton,” he said.
