Liquidator appointed to hotel in Wicklow hopes to conclude sale

The Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt has been put into liquidation.

Declan Taite of RSM Farrell Grant Sparks, has been appointed liquidator to Carrylane Limited, which trades as The Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt. Mr Taite had been appointed by the High Court as examiner to the company on November 19th, 2012.

The company owed the National Asset Management Agency €47 million and Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company BV (RCHC), operator of the hotel and part of the international Marriott Group, was expected to invest in it.

The five-star 200-room hotel is on Powerscourt Estate in Co Wicklow and employs 293 staff.

The liquidator said he has secured funding to continue to operate the hotel for two weeks while looking to conclude a sale.
