Kerry Airport reported a "positive start" to Ryanair's service between there and Dublin on Wednesday.
Ryanair took over the previously State-subsidised route on a commercial basis this month following a deal with the Government after previous operator, Stobart Air, folded in June.
Kerry Airport said in a statement that it was “happy to report a positive start to the service” after the first flight landed there at 1.00pm on Wednesday before departing for Dublin 25 minutes later.
Ryanair will fly the service once-a-day from each airport until the end of next month, after which it will move to twice daily.
Confusion surrounded the launch of the service after Kerry Airport described a statement by Ryanair confirming that it would operate the route as “premature and inaccurate” as it had held no talks with the airline.
