U2 Dublin concert a beautiful day with €12m boost to economy

Croke Park gig is band’s only concert in Ireland as part of ‘Joshua Tree’ world tour

This weekend's sold-out U2 concert in Croke Park will provide a boost of about €12 million to the local economy, according to figures from Dublin Chamber.

More than 80,000 people will attend the concert on Saturday evening – the band's only gig on the island of Ireland this summer as part of The Joshua Tree world tour.

“A U2 concert in Dublin is a truly international event with fans travelling from all over the world,” said Aebhric McGibney, director of public and international Affairs at Dublin Chamber.
