Teneo’s Irish profits climb 59% in 2020

Public relations company pays dividend of more than €700,000

Teneo Strategy Ireland recorded a profit €795,044 in 2020, up 59 per cent on the previous year, newly filed accounts for the public relations and chief executrive advisory company show.

The company, a subsidiary of New York-based Teneo Strategy LLC, paid a dividend of €713,098, the abridged accounts state. This was down from €1.15 million in 2019.

Staff of 71

Teneo’s Irish operation, which is led by Michael O’Keeffe, employed an average of 71 people during 2020, down from 77 in 2019. Its clients include Vodafone Ireland, Aer Lingus, Dublin Zoo, Allianz Ireland, Circle K and TikTok.

The company was the sponsor of Tipperary GAA for the past three seasons, but the deal has not been renewed for 2022.

Teneo was co-founded by Tipperary-born Irishman Declan Kelly in 2011. Mr Kelly resigned as chief executive and chairman earlier this year and was replaced by co-founder Paul Keary as chief executive. Former Xerox chief Ursula Burns now chairs the company.
