John McCartney has joined BNP Paribas Real Estate Ireland as head of research, a role which will see him develop the group’s market research resource.
Mr McCartney most recently worked for the Irish Housing Agency, where, for the past year, he helped strategise on Dublin's chronic under-supply of housing. Prior to that he was director of research at Savills Ireland and head of research at Lisney.
Announcing the appointment Kenneth Rouse, managing directorat BNP Paribas Real Estate Ireland (BNPRE), said that detailed data analysis and market insight is critical in the commercial real estate sector,and adds real value for investors and clients.
“The importance of research is critical, and contributes all the more significantly now, as the investor base in Ireland grows in sophistication. The appointment of John McCartney, a high-calibre’ research professional,will bring a new impetus and energy to our team, and will enhancethe already extensive research offering at BNPPRE Ireland,” he said.
McCartney’s brief is to further develop the market research resource at BNPPRE, which covers the analysis and collation of property data, market commentary and forecasting of real estate indicators. Mr McCartney will also be part of the group’s international research team, and will both contribute to, and have the support of, a 60+ strong resource, producing market-leading pan-European research.
