Internazionale and Roberto Mancini have parted ways by mutual consent and the club are now expected to appoint Frank de Boer with two weeks to go until the beginning of the new Serie A season.

Mancini’s last match in charge of Inter was a 6-1 friendly defeat to Tottenham on Friday and with De Boer a free agent having left Ajax at the conclusion of last season, the club’s new owners, Suning Holdings Group, decided to act.

“FC Internazionale Milano announces that it has reached an agreement for the termination of the contract with the coach Roberto Mancini,” a club statement read.

“The club would like to thank Roberto for his work since he accepted the post in November 2014. Last season the team was leading the Serie A until the winter break, finishing the season in fourth place and qualifying directly for the group stage of the Uefa Europa League. We wish to thank Roberto for his commitment and professionalism demonstrated against the club in the last 20 months of work.”

De Boer, who guided Ajax to four Eredivisie titles in six seasons as manager, is likely to be unveiled this week. It will be his first job outside of the Netherlands. He had been linked with moves to Everton and Southampton this summer but Ronald Koeman moved from St Mary's to Goodison Park and Claude Puel took over at St Mary's.

ElsewhereParis St Germain have signed forward Jesé Rodriguez from Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old forward has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with PSG and becomes the French champions’ fifth signing of the summer.

The former Spain Under-21 international told www.psg.fr: “I am delighted to join Paris St Germain, who have become one of Europe’s most competitive clubs.

“Like Paris St Germain, I have big ambitions for the coming seasons and it will be a great pleasure to work under the direction of Unai Emery, who has developed an excellent reputation in Spain, and across Europe, for his quality as a coach. I can’t wait to begin this next challenge of my career.”
