Limerick FC 2 St Patrick’s Athletic 2

St Patrick’s Athletic moved off the bottom of the table after coming from two goals down to deservedly draw against Limerick at the Market’s Field.

Both sides had chances to take full points with St Patrick’s goalkeeper Conor O’Malley making two late saves from Limerick’s Dean Clarke and Chiedozie Ogbene.

The latter had set Limerick on their way with a 17th minute goal, after good work by Lee J Lynch.

The goal came after a quick breakout of defence, after Brendan Clarke had saved from a corner.

When Rodrigo Tosi was fouled in the 57th minute he converted the penalty himself to make it 2-0.

That was against the run of play, but four minutes later Ian Bermingham headed a goal from Lunny's corner and then came a marvellous strike from 20 yards by Conan Byrne to level matters. A goal worthy of being the winner, but St Pat's had to be content with the one point this time.
