RTE commentator Stephen Alkin was left embarrassed after he asked St Patrick's Athletic boss Liam Buckley about the substitution of Shamrock Rovers midfielder Keith Fahey.

Alkin enquired why Fahey had been brought off after just half an hour of Pats 2-1 FAI Cup second round win over their Dublin rivals, a question which brought bemusement from manager Buckley.

Indeed, Fahey left Pats to sign for Rovers at the end of the 2014 campaign, bringing to an end his third spell at the club.

Buckley was left to break it to Alkin that it was opposite number Pat Fenlon who brought the former Birmingham City player off.
