Longford Town twice came from behind to draw with Limerick at Jackman Park and had the better chances to win the game.

Gary Shaw was straight through on the Limerick goal after 63 minutes but Conor O'Donnell made a superb save and seven minutes later Shaw headed wide.

After 202 minutes of football Seán Russell had Limerick's first goal of the season when he struck a cracking low shot past Paul Hunt.

The lead lasted for only five minutes when David O’Sullivan scored for Longford.

Limerick got back in front after 40 minutes when Russell shot low following a pass from Dean Clarke.

But O’Sullivan had the visitors back on terms when his header beat O’Donnell and from there to the finish Longford had the better chances but the draw means that both sides are still chasing a first win of the season.

The attendance was 481, the smallest since Limerick got back to the Premier Division.
