Drogheda United 0 Finn Harps 2

Goals in either half were enough for Finn Harps to see off Drogheda United on Friday night and leave the home side floundering in last place.

The visitors took the lead inside five minutes when Eddie Dsane deftly chipped a free, from the edge of the box, over the wall and into the bottom left hand corner leaving Stephen McGuinness with no chance.

Thomas Byrne hit the crossbar a minute later as Drogheda tried to respond.

It should have been two for Harps when Caolan McAleer disposed Ciaran McGuigan on the edge of the Drogheda box and he raced through only to be denied by McGuinness.

Drogheda were presented with a chance on the stroke of half-time when Ethan Boyle handled Jake Hyland’s flick through right on the edge of the box but Sean Thornton put his free over.
