Limerick 1 Dundalk 1

Limerick became the first team to score a goal and take a point off Premier Division champions Dundalk at Jackman Park on Saturday night thanks to a late goal from Paul O’Conor.

It looked as if the visitors would make it six games without conceding a goal but in the 90th minute O'Conor's low header beat Gary Rogers in the Dundalk goal.

Even in the first of the three stoppage-time minutes Dundalk almost snatched the win but Limerick goalkeeper Conor O'Donnell denied Ronan Finn in another of a string of splendid saves he was forced to make.

Dundalk had by far the greater number of chances but they had to wait 37 minutes to score when a free by Darren Meenan was not adequately dealt with by Limerick and when the ball broke to Richie Towell he shot to the top of the Limerick net.

Limerick's best chance before their late equaliser fell to Dean Clarke on the hour but Rogers made a superb save.
