Leinster have today added two new players to their squad in the form of Robbie Henshaw and former Munster lock Ian Nagle, as well as confirming that 17 players have signed new contracts.

While the arrival of Henshaw has been well known since the weekend, the signing of Nagle comes as somewhat of a surprise after the 27-year-old had taken a sabbatical from rugby due to persistent injuries.

But after making a return to rugby with London Irish, including playing in last weekend's win against Worcester, he has now been snapped up by Leo Cullen for the upcoming season.

"It is well documented at this stage that Ian took a sabbatical from rugby at the end of the 2013/14 season to pursue educational opportunities most recently at Cambridge University. He has however made a return to rugby with London Irish and was involved last weekend in their win against Worcester.

“He is also relatively young at 27 and I think he will add even more experience and competition to an already competitive second row roster,” Cullen said.

Meanwhile Isa Nacewa has signed a new long-term deal with the province while Garry Ringrose has been bumped up to a full contract.

Dave Kearney, Mike McCarthy and Jack McGrath are among the other internationals to commit their future to Leinster.

Cian Healy, Isaac Boss, Eoin Reddan and Hayden Triggs are among those not listed with more contract renewals expected within the next fortnight.

Leinster contract renewals: Michael Bent, Adam Byrne, Tom Daly, Peter Dooley, Tadhg Furlong, Dave Kearney, Cathal Marsh, Mike McCarthy, Jack McGrath, Ross Molony, Isa Nacewa, Sean O'Brien, Garry Ringrose, Mike Ross, Rhys Ruddock, James Tracy, Josh van der Flier.
