An Argentinean TV station has used Donald Trump’s anti-immigration rhetoric to help advertise their coverage of this summer’s centenary staging of the Copa America in the United States.

Ten US cities will host the 16-team tournament from June 3rd, with the final taking place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where the Republic of Ireland beat Italy in the 1994 World Cup.

TyC Sports mixes images of the Argentina players and supporters arriving in America with a scampaign peech from Trump’s bid to secure the Republican Party’s nomination.

As Sergio Agüero, Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano step from an airplane, Trump bellows: "Our country is in serious trouble. We are having people coming in through the border that are not people we want, thousands of people are coming through the border, hundreds of thousands, and they're unchecked.

“And then they are being sent all over the United States, we don’t even know where all these people are coming from, they’re coming from all over, they’re coming from South America.

Ángel Di Maria is seen firing home a goal as Trump declares: “These are total killers”, while Messi is pictured standing over a free-kick as the real estate magnate adds: “These are not the nice little people that you think, we have no protection”.

Trump and USA soccer fans will not have to worry about Messi and co until the knockout stages of the competition, with Jürgen Klinsmann’s side drawn in Group A alongside Colombia, Costa Rica and Paraguay.

Argentina have been drawn in a tough looking Group D alongside Chile – who beat Argentina in the final when hosting the event in 2015 – Panama and Bolivia.
