Anthony Pilkington could miss Ireland’s friendlies against Latvia and Poland.

Norwich winger Anthony Pilkington has not joined up with his Republic of Ireland teammates in Dublin this evening ahead of Friday's friendly against Latvia as the Premier League club continue to assess the extent of a leg injury he sustained at the weekend.

Pilkington limped out of Norwich’s much-needed win over West Ham after just 33 minutes having sustained a dead leg the continues to require treatment.

The Football Association of Ireland confirmed this evening that Pilkington is considered a doubt for Friday night’s match at the Aviva Stadium, and the subsequent trip to face Poland in Poznan, and that he will remain with Norwich until at least Thursday.

“Anthony Pilkington has emerged as an injury doubt after coming off during Norwich’s clash against West Ham on Saturday with a dead leg,” the FAI explained in a statement. “He will remain with his club until Thursday while his progress is monitored.”
