Republic of Ireland international winger Robbie Brady is on the verge of completing a €9.8 million transfer from Hull City to Norwich City after the newly-promoted side made a fifth, improved bid for the 23-year-old.
Hull manager Steve Bruce said: “The two clubs have agreed a fee for Robbie. We have given Robbie permission to go and speak to Norwich. I envisage that deal to go through. I want to thank Robbie for his efforts as he has been a terrific player for us.
New deal
“It’s sad to see him go but most people will understand that when you get relegated these things happen.
Hull bought Brady from Manchester United for €3.5 million in 2013. The versatile player, who can play as a winger and full-back, had a year to run on his contract with Hull, but had rejected a new deal in a bid to return to the Premier League after Hull’s relegation last season.
Meanwhile, Stevan Jovetic is set to be loaned to Internazionale for €2.8 million, with the Italian club to buy the striker from Manchester City at the end of the season for €14.37 million as part of the deal.
There is the prospect of a further €2.8 million in add-ons to City over the next two seasons, and City are also to receive 20 per cent of any sell-on fee.
Since signing in summer 2013 the Montenegrin struggled to establish himself in City’s starting line-up. Jovetic was hampered by injury and inconsistent form. He managed only eight Premier League goals and 11 starts in the two seasons at the club.
Edin Dzeko may be another City striker departing soon as Roma are keen on signing the 29-year-old. Pellegrini is waiting to discover how seriously the recent injury is to new signing Fabian Delph.
