Swansea have confirmed that assistant manager Pep Clotet and coaches James Beattie and Kristian O'Leary have left the club following the departure of manager Garry Monk.
A club statement confirmed the expected exits, adding: “The club would like to thank Pep, James and Kristian for their service … A statement regarding the management structure for Saturday’s fixture at Manchester City will be confirmed in due course.”
Spaniard Clotet originally joined the Swans as academy consultant in November 2013, and three months later stepped up to become Monk's assistant with the first team following the departure of Michael Laudrup. He was recently linked to the managerial vacancy at Championship club Brentford.
Beattie was appointed first-team coach this summer, while O’Leary returned to the club in July 2012 following a 15-year playing career at Swansea and was promoted to first-team duties after Monk’s appointment in February 2014.
Swansea's chairman, Huw Jenkins, is understood to have identified a manager currently working overseas as the man he wants to appoint to steer Swansea clear from the relegation zone.
Monk had only signed a three-year contract in July, after leading Swansea to a club-record eighth-place finish in the Premier League the previous season.
Jenkins said following Monk’s exit: “The decision has been made very reluctantly and with a heavy heart. To find ourselves in our current situation from where we were in the first week of September, and considering the drop of performance levels and run of results over the last three months, it has brought us to this unfortunate decision today.
“It was not a decision we took lightly, especially given Garry’s history and standing within the club … He will always have a warm welcome at this football club. We hope to appoint a replacement as soon as possible.’’
