Romain Ntamack should be available to play against Ireland in the Six Nations Championship match at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, March 8th (2.15pm).

The French outhalf received a three-match ban after being sent off against Wales last weekend for a shoulder to the face of Ben Thomas. Referee Paul Williams issued a yellow card for the incident and sent it for review, the upshot of which was that it should be upgraded to red.

The disciplinary panel upheld the red card for “reckless head contact,” decided on a mid-range entry point of six weeks, mitigated the timeframe by 50 per cent, because of his guilty plea, good record, remorse/apology and good conduct and Ntamack can shave another week off, and can reduce the punishment to two games if he attends “tackle school”.

He will miss Saturday’s game against England at Twickenham but the other one or two matches will be clarified by the Six Nations at a later date. France play Italy in the Six Nations on Sunday. February 23rd, while his club Toulouse are away to Clermont in the French Top 14 on February 16th and home to Vannes on March 1st.
