Dan Martin won stage four of the Tour of Beijing today as Philippe Gilbert retained the overall lead entering tomorrow's final stage.
The Irishman surged clear in the final kilometre of the 157km route from Yanqing to the summit finish at Mentougou Miaofeng to triumph by two seconds from a three-rider group which included Belgian Gilbert.
Martin (Garmin-Sharp) is second in the overall classification, with Gilbert (BMC Racing) in possession of a three-second lead in the race which finishes at the Olympic Park. Ireland's Philip Deignan (Team Sky) is in 19th place overall, having finished 17th in today's stage.
