A limited number of fans will be accommodated on the Hill 16 terrace at Croke Park for the All-Ireland football semi-finals and for both finals.
Spectators will return to the terrace for the first time since February 2020 for Saturday week's double header of All-Ireland men's and women's semi-finals between Dublin and Mayo.
It will be the first time in 18 months that the terracing will be open and follows the decision to allow patrons to stand at recent games including the Munster hurling final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
The GAA has yet to confirm the news regarding Croke Park but it is understood their intention is to have the terrace in operation for both football semi-finals and the two All-Ireland senior finals.
Kerry will play Tyrone in the second football semi-final on Sunday week with confirmation coming last week that the games on August 14th and 15th can be attended by a maximum of 24,000 fans.
That figure will rise to 40,000 for the All-Ireland finals, though this weekend’s hurling semi-finals will only accommodate spectators in the seated areas.
The GAA confirmed yesterday that both the men’s and women’sfootball semi-finals involving Dublin and Mayo teams will be paired up together on Saturday week. The women’s game will begin at 3.45pm with the men’s match throwing in at 6pm.
