The line-up for the Allianz Hurling League semi-finals has been settled, with Cork facing Dublin and Waterford taking on Tipperary. Cork came through a sticky assignment against Wexford in Páirc Uí Rinn yesterday,
winning 0-18 to 0-14.
Derek McGrath's Waterford side continued their fine form with a 0-20 to 0-12 win over Galway, and Tipperary survived red cards to Seamus Callanan and Cathal Barrett to beat Offaly by 1-16 to 0-13. The semi-finals will be played on the weekend of April 19th.
In the Allianz Football League, Cork sealed a place in the semi-finals with a 2-7 to 0-12 win over Mayo thanks to an injury-time goal from Brian Hurley. The other three spots are up for grabs next weekend, with Monaghan in poll position after beating Kerry in Tralee by 1-11 to 0-10. It was Monaghan's first win over Kerry since 1988 and it puts them on eight points going into their last game against Dublin.
Kerry and Tyrone will meet in Omagh for what amount to a relegation play-off after Tyrone put in what Mickey Harte described as "as bad a performance as any I have been involved with" against Donegal in a 1-13 to 0-6 defeat. A victory for the All-Ireland champions could also see them going through to the semi-finals if results fall their way elsewhere.
Galway’s 1-14 to 1-10 win over Roscommon means that everything remains up for grabs at either end of the Division Two table .
First time
In Division Three, Fermanagh were promoted with a 1-12 to 0-7 away win over Wexford. It will be Fermanagh’s first time in Division Two since 2009 and with Armagh having won promotion with their win over Louth, it means Antrim will be the only Ulster team in the bottom two divisions.
In Division Four, Longford clinched promotion with a 0-13 to 0-10 win over Offaly. The second spot will go to either Offaly or Antrim, who meet next Sunday.
