All-Ireland club football champions Cuala are looking for a new manager after the stepping down of Austin O’Malley. The former Mayo and Wicklow footballer informed the club that he had decided not to renew his three-year appointment because of family and business commitments.
He took over the club in 2022 just after their promotion to senior A and reached the Dublin quarter-finals in his first two years. Last season Cuala won the club’s first county title and went on a run that ended up with Leinster and All-Ireland titles.
As a player he won the Dublin title in 2006 with UCD and qualified as a school teacher but in more recent years has established Hexagon Performance, a consultancy specialising in the science of performance coaching.
