Connacht SFC Final: Galway v Leitrim, Hyde Park, 4.15 (Network 2)

Few beyond the Leitrim dressing-room door will be expecting anything other than a handsome Galway win at Hyde Park

Few beyond the Leitrim dressing-room door will be expecting anything other than a handsome Galway win at Hyde Park. The devastating dismissal of Sligo has afforded Galway a formidable look. Yet Sligo at times rolled through Galway's centre with an ease which will have been noted by John O'Mahony. And it has to be remembered that the Galway front six were lobbing points from every angle under the sun last time out. Tomorrow, they might not gel so well.

Against Roscommon, Leitrim demonstrated that they don't crumble easily. The presence of 1994 veteran Seamus Quinn around midfield could well thwart the flow of possession generated by Sean O Domhnaill and Joe Bergin, and Leitrim have forwards good enough to keep plugging away.

Leitrim can take much from this season, no matter what the outcome tomorrow. However, team manager Joe Reynolds concedes that his team would need to hit a purple patch in order to win tomorrow and even then it would depend on Galway being off colour. It is a tall order with a lot of "ifs" and chances are it won't happen. Galway have simply too much in reserve.
