Trulioo is a classic example of a business that didn’t exist a decade ago. A global identity verification service, it provides instant online identity, document and business verification coverage of five billion people. A Canadian start-up, it opened its Irish office in 2018 and has been steadily increasing its headcount.
Saule Ibrayeva is an enterprise account executive with the company. She says her career path took a circuitous route before landing in fintech.
“I started in the retail banking sector in product management. For more than eight years I managed consumer lending products but then I took a career break to look after my children, help them settle in Ireland, pick up English and make lots of new friends. Soon after that I decided to explore sales roles, and joined Trulioo.”
Having started as an outbound sales development representative, she has since been promoted to enterprise account executive. “My role is all about helping ambitious businesses tackle their global compliance and verification challenges. Trulioo is building trust online so that businesses and consumers can transact safely and securely.”
The identity verification platform that Trulioo provides helps companies meet their regulatory and compliance requirements, often in numerous countries. This means Ibrayeva often speaks to people from all over the world. “I can start my day with a call with a company based in India, follow it up with a chat with someone in France, and then finish it off with a conversation with a business operating in the US.”
This dynamism is why Ibrayeva says she loves working in tech. “In the tech industry it is important to be curious, stay open minded and flexible to changes. Don’t be afraid to experiment and make mistakes – that’s when you learn a lot – and have fun along the way.”
