On Sunday, gardaí announced they had arrested and were questioning a 50-year-old man on suspicions of the murder of Michael Gaine, who vanished in Co Kerry in March.
Mr Gaine’s farm was swarmed over the weekend by Garda forensic teams and detectives after human remains were discovered in slurry spread across the farm just outside Kenmare.
The suspect’s arrest was the first time anyone has been detained by gardaí since the investigation began.
