Garda review of Jobstown events

Sir, – Garda Commissioner Nóirín O'Sullivan has told the Public Accounts Committee that an internal Garda review of events surrounding the Jobstown incident will ignore by far the most important issue of concern, the conduct during the trial of gardaí in the witness box. I don't know who should be most offended by this bizarre decision, the public, the acquitted defendants or Leo Varadkar? It was the Taoiseach himself after all who called for an investigation in the first place during a Prime Time interview, and who said that the possibility of some Garda evidence not being "in line with the facts" was "a problem". – Yours, etc,
