Sir, – Having regard to the recently approved proposal in Dublin for over 1,000 apartments in Drumcondra incorporating a 14-storey block and the currently submitted proposal for over 600 units incorporating a 10-storey block in Ranelagh, both sites of which were previously under the control of members of groups of the religious hierarchy, one can only wonder if this is the 21st-century equivalent of turning water into wine. Another analogy could be that of the loaves and fishes, only in both these cases the larger part of the housing-seeking populace will not even get the crumbs from the table.
– Yours, etc,
PHILIP O’REILLY,
Rathmines, Dublin 6.
