Sir, – It was good to see that a blue plaque has been installed in Dublin to commemorate Anna Parnell, co-founder of the Ladies Land League in 1881 (News, September 20th).
Contrary to what was stated in the report, Anna is not at rest in an unmarked grave; her gravestone is located in the churchyard of the Holy Trinity in Ilfracombe, Devon, England.
There was a permanent rift between Anna and her brother Charles when the very influential Ladies Land League was eventually forced to wind up, in return for Charles clearing its debts.
